Job Description

Job Title: Construction Project Manager Location: Warwick (with travel to other UK sites)Contract length: 6 months (3-year project, contract extensions in place to facilitate)Pay rate: £450-£500 per day, inside IR35My client is an international electricity and gas company and one of the largest investor-owned Energy companies in the world. Were also looking to the future - innovating, inventing,and transforming - to make possible the energy systems of tomorrow.Our Gas Transmission Operations function maintains, responds, and delivers small projects on the Gas Transmission infrastructure safely and efficiently.About the Role The Project Manager will be aligned to the Operations Support Team. Our Project Managers lead the CAPEX projects aligned to Gas Operations. It will be your role to develop and implement the refurbishment of the operational site building on our compressor sitesand facility building at Ambergate PMC.Key responsibilities:* Own all aspects of the planning process from the critical path, the Gas Transmission programme, and the contractor programmes* Ensure the planning process is working, integrating the master schedule, and ensuring data is robust to provide an accurate picture of progress against baseline. * Engage with contractor planning resource to complete month-end reporting routines and raise programme issues* During delivery, support the Project Manager to certify that all contractor programmes are compliant to the NEC and works information* Provide the Project Manager with recommendations following month-end programme analysis to enable timely decisions for corrective action* Provide the Project Manager with analysis of the construction sequence and scope of works to identify options and opportunities in the programme* Carry out impact assessments of early warnings or change events either from our supply chain or Project Manager* Assess and validate supply chain progress by applying volumetrics / run rates and attend site during delivery to confirm construction progress* Ensure the programme is fully cost loaded with the Budgeted Costs assigned to the appropriate activities and contains all activities required to deliver the programmeDesirable skills and experience* At least 5 years planning experience in the construction industry preferably with Gas Industry or Utility experience * Experience in delivery of projects during construction and civils installation* Advanced knowledge of project planning skills * Knowledge of Microsoft Project desirable* Strong capability to assess change and complete impact assessments on time risk allowance and forensic analysis* Advanced understanding of the key NEC clauses for Planning, Early Warnings and Compensation event* Have a working knowledge of and ideally be able to facilitate risk workshops, undertake quantitative risk analysis & schedule risk analysis* Good understanding of written and spoken English is essential* Hold a current full UK driving licence* Membership of a professional organisation such as APM or IET (or equivalent)NOTE - If you are not contacted within 48 hours of applying, please assume you have not been shortlisted on this occasion, however, we will have your contact information and CV on file should anything more suitable come about.
