Job Description

Job Title: Procurement Excellence Analyst Reports to - Head of Procurement National Gass Mission: National Gas is the backbone of Britains Energy System and will play a leading role in the transition to a clean energy future. To support this transition Procurement is changing. A new operating model is being implemented that will place business partnering,supplier relationships, efficiency & value at the centre of what National Gas do and what they stand for.National Gas are growing their procurement team and are seeking individuals who will work in collaboration with the market and their suppliers, to contribute to a clean energy future for everyone through strategic, commercial and sustainable leadership inall their procurement efforts.Procurement will be leading the way in supporting the organisations mission to develop the hydrogen transmission system of tomorrow. The Procurement Excellence Analyst will support procurement continuous improvement project delivery combined with a supporting role in respect of systems, data and insight across the function. The role-holder also supports the roll-out, development, functioningand administration of procurement systems, including portal interfaces and any other procurement systems used. Job Responsibilities:

  • Deliver a portfolio of agreed priority lower complexity projects to improve Procurement capability
  • Assist in the selection and testing of new systems to support procurement processes
  • Ensure systems linkages are functioning, remedying where appropriate
  • Coordinate the development of IT related procurement projects with the IT department and cross-functional teams
  • Extract data and information from procurement systems
  • Manages master data
  • Conduct process improvement projects to improve efficiency of current systems
  • Provide training and guidance to end-users and to the Procurement team
  • Perform complex data analytics on behalf of the leadership, Category and Projects teams
  • Produce market insight and analysis for use by the leadership, Category and Project teams
  • Maintain Procurement knowledge hub with internal and external insight
  • Support the Procurement Excellence Principal with the co-ordination of the Supplier Relationship Management programme
  • Identify and communicate continuous improvement opportunities
  • Supports the development of the annual value planning cycle
Job Requirements:
  • Able to prioritise work, meet deadlines and targets
  • Strong problem-solving skills and techniques, with ability to understand and carry out analysis and draw out conclusions
  • Strong problem-solving skills and techniques. Able to identify issues, solve them quickly, and communicate solutions in an appropriate language for end-users
  • Knowledge of procurement processes: category planning, strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management
  • Strong desire to learn and develop in Procurement

  • Preferrable knowledge of the procurement processes - advanced
Functional Skills
  • Technical experience in design or maintenance of a corporate network and services - advanced
  • General computer literacy and knowledge of Microsoft Excel, knowledge of standard business-related applications including the Microsoft Office suite and Adobe PDF - advanced
