Job Description

Learning and Behaviour Mentor| NuneatonJob Title: KS3 and KS4 Learning Behaviour MentorPay: £80 - £100 per dayStart date: ASAPResponsible to : Inclusion manager and Senco leadDo you have a talent for building relationships and breaking down barriersDo you have experience working with challenging behaviour in any capacityAre you looking for a new opportunityWe are looking for an experienced KS3 and KS4 Behaviour Mentor to work with young people in a secondary setting to support with challenging behaviour and overcoming barriers to learning within the classroom.This is a role which will support staff in all areas of the school around the areas of behavioural, social and emotional development. Ideally suited to someone with a strong, outgoing personality. Previous applicants who have excelled in this rolehave moved from careers in social work, the army, police or as an HMP officer.To be considered for the role of Learning and Behaviour Mentor you will:

  • Be confident in behaviour management skills to de-escalate any threatening or aggressive behaviour.
  • To mentor and engage with the students, delivering specifically designed educational packages.
  • You will need to be resilient, empathetic, patient and not take things too personally.
About the role:
  • You will have a unique position in the school and must be able to use your time effectively to benefit pupils every day.
  • Implement the school behaviour policy and lead best practice in this area.
  • Understand how to use data to inform practice and support the development of students.
  • To be confident liaising with teaching staff to plan and deliver the support needed and where appropriate develop strategies to help achieve positive behavioural outcomes.
  • Will support teaching staff with appropriate strategies when dealing with challenging behaviour.
  • Will ensure pupils receive regular and constructive feedback with regards to their progress.
