Job Description

Job Role: Junior Software Engineer Location: Coleshill, Birmingham B46 Salary: Negotiable Dependant on Experience Benefits: 25 days holiday, Pension, life AssuranceTrakm8 holdings group PLC is a market leader in the fast growing vehicle telematics market sector. Based in Coleshill and other UK locations but with a global marketplace Trakm8 is well placed to take advantage of current market opportunities. Increased fuel costs, reduction in operating costs and numerous employment laws such as Duty of Care are all driving increased interest in our products and services. Due to steady growth we are now looking for enthusiastic Junior Software Engineer to join our software development team.Main Responsibilities of the role:

  • Analyse, design, implement and test new features for the companies web applications
  • Production of unit tests and integration tests, including the production of automated tests
  • Propose and implement fixes for product issues (bugs) within the web applications
  • Providing support to the test team during testing phases
  • Input to specification process to ensure requirements are complete, unambiguous and implementable
  • Input to project management process regarding estimates to complete; potential risks and opportunities; project issues; and reporting of progress / completion
  • Providing support to customer services team as necessary to resolve customer issues
  • Provision of internal product training to team members as required
    • Requirements:
  • Experience of the full software development lifecycle
  • Experience of software development in some or all of the following technologies: PHP, Python, JavaScript, Jquery, HTML5, CSS3, Angular, Node.js
  • Experience of database technology such as MySQL, Redis, KairosDB
  • Experience of working with Linux and the LAMP stack
  • Knowledge of API development and design
  • Knowledge and experience of Microsoft suite of office tools
  • Well organised and capable of prioritising workload
  • Formal qualifications in a computer science subject, or equivalent relevant work experience
  • Enthusiastic self-starter and strong team player with the ability to work alone or within a team environment
