Job Description

A talented Head of Finance is needed to lead a West Midlands business through its next exciting expansion phase and further into future!Based in South Warwickshire, this important new role is being created to oversee the financial operations of six specialist care sites, currently with a turnover of £12-13m pa.The successful candidate will be a qualified and experienced accountant, with good technical and managerial acumen, and will play a central role in the organisation - ensuring its financial infrastructure and performance are consistently strong and high performing across the entire business.What will it entail

  • Working across departments to help managers plan and handle their budgets
  • Working closely with the MD to help manage the overall business deliver its objectives
  • Hands-on general accounts responsibilities
  • Ensuring financial processes, systems and controls are operating effectively, which may include the development of financial models
  • Direct input into the strategy of the business, including budgeting and forecasting
  • Maintaining statutory records
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Liaising with auditors and preparing audit packs
  • Budget preparation and all related monthly management reporting
  • Providing the MD with core information relating to financial performance
  • Review of all management accounts packs
  • Overseeing / reviewing sales & purchase ledgers, payroll, cash posting and all general ledger entries
  • Handling PAYE and Tax duties, including corporation tax
  • Project management and mentoring of the finance teams across the group
  • Building and maintaining good relationships across the business and with other stakeholders and external partners
  • Any other ad hoc assignments
  • What skills and experience do I need
  • You must be a fully qualified accountant
  • You must have experience working at a board level within a multi-site business
  • Social care experience is highly desirable
  • Excellent communication and management skills
  • An enquiring and strategic mind
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • A sound working knowledge of Excel, Word and Sage, with Xero an added advantage
