Job Description

Job Role: Graduate/Junior Service Delivery Engineer Location: Coleshill, Birmingham B46 Salary: Competitive SalaryBenefits: 25 days holiday, Pension, life AssuranceHeadquartered in Coleshill, West Midlands with a full manufacturing facility Trakm8 is a UK based technology leader in fleet management, insurance telematics, optimization and dashboard camera systems. Through IP owned technology, the Group analyses data collected by its installed base of telematics units to fine tune the algorithms that are used to produce its telematics based solutions; these score driver behavior, monitor vehicle health and continuously improve the security and operational efficiency of both private drivers and company fleets.Trakm8 has been listed on the AIM market of the London Stock Exchange since 2005 and we now have an exciting opportunity for a Service Delivery Engineer to join our team.Main Responsibilities of the role:

  • Ensuring the efficient and effective provision of IT Service to the Trakm8 business, maintaining uptime and performance of the Trakm8 telematics system
  • Balance incident and project-based work, fault finding and troubleshooting issues across servers, databases, networks application and CI/CD deployments
  • Take part in the 24x7 on-call rota and able to work flexibly according to the needs of the business
  • Provide clear and concise documentation of existing and new solutions
    • Opportunities to use and develop skills in the following technologies:
  • Linux (Centos/Ubuntu) and Window operating systems on vSphere and AWS
  • Kubernetes, Docker, MySQL, Cassandra, Kafka, Elasticsearch, Kong, Postgres, RabbitMQ, HAProxy, NGINX and REDIS
  • Automation tooling such as Ansible and Puppet
  • Enterprise grade Palo Alto firewalls, TCP/IP Networking including DNS, BGP Routing, VPNs and ancillary services such as SMTP, HTTP and HTTPS
  • Systems such as Grafana, Icinga, GIT, Bitbucket, Jira, Bamboo CI/CD pipeline
  • AWS EC2, RDS, ELB, VCP, Multi AZ subnets, VPN, Transit and Customer Gateway
    • Skills/Experience:
  • Linux administration experience using a mainstream Linux distribution e.g. CentOS, Ubuntu
  • Keen problem solver with methodical troubleshooting skills
  • AWS, VMware, Docker and Kubernetes implementation and management
  • Network, Systems and SAN management with security focus
  • Automated Monitoring, Ansible and Scripting Knowledge - Icinga, Perl, Python, Bash
    • Desirable:
  • Kubernetes and Ansible automation experience desirable
  • VMware, Amazon AWS or Datacentre experience (security, storage and networking)
  • The Ideal candidate will have had some exposure to working in Service Delivery, Linux Administration, Infrastructure Operations Engineering or similar.
