My client, a leading provider of services within the distribution industry, are looking to recruit a Fleet Manager to oversee and manage compliance across their multi distribution network.The successful Fleet Manager will be working for an extremely well-established company who have been a market leader in their field for several years. The company has always followed a policy of expansion and substantial investment in their facilities and structure across the UK is planned over the next 12-18 months.The Fleet Manager will be responsible for monitoring and developing the effectiveness of the logistics function at each of the groups locations. As the Fleet Manager, you will ensure compliance with drivers hours according to Working Time Directive, ensuring that all operations are carried out in line with UK and EU Laws and regulations governing vehicle safety. Ensuring roadworthiness of all vehicles and trailers through proper maintenance and where necessary organising vehicle and trailer replacements and disposals. You will be responsible for managing supplier relationships, negotiating maintenance contracts, and ensuring warranty issue are addressed. You will be asked to provide relevant information and advice to assist in the formulation of site transport budgets.As the successful Fleet Manager, you are likely to have significant experience in fleet management, managing an operation of a large fleet of vehicles. You will need to understand all relevant legal and compliance fleet controls, you will have had exposure to budgets and financial controls also. Having the relevant industry standards are essential, a Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) within logistics is a must and if someone also had a Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor (DGSA) qualification that would also be beneficial. The successful candidate will also understand safe methods of loading and unloading vehicles whilst also having commercial knowledge of vehicle usage, you will be asked to train and develop staff in these areas where applicableThe salary package that is available to the successful Fleet Manager is c£50,000 with additional benefits also.
