Job Description

Job IntroductionCoventry & Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust are rated Good in their most recent CQC report as well as being recognised as a Global Digital Exemplar. The Trust works across 101 locations including 5 hospitals, delivering community and mental health servicesto 1 million people. The Trust also has exciting plans to transform care for mental health, musculo-skeletal conditions (MSK), learning disabilities and autism. This includes a brand-new state-of-the-art Rainbow Unit, providing facilities for inpatients witha learning disability and/ or autism.Main ResponsibilitiesTo be responsible for the systematic provision of specialist psychological services, for people suffering with complex mental health problems. In particular, to provide services that meet the agreed service priorities consonant with practitioner experience and expertise.

  • Provide a specialist psychological therapy service including, specialist assessment, Planning, treatment, implementation and monitoring of outcomes to promote recovery.
  • Provide clinical supervision and consultation as appropriate.
  • Contribute to enabling other staff, service users and careers from diverse backgrounds to flourish by working to create a psychologically safe environment.
  • Work as an autonomous professional within BPS and HCPC guidelines and codes of conduct and guided by principles and policies or procedures of service, taking responsibility for interpreting policies within defined parameters.
  • Use research skills for audit, policy and service development and research within areas served by the team/service.
  • Work across organisational boundaries to ensure the delivery of coordinated psychological services for service users.
  • Contribute to the training and supervision of trainee clinical psychologists where appropriate.
  • Promote at all times a positive image of people living with mental health issues or learning disabilities.
  • Promote at all times a positive image of the service and the wider trust.
The Ideal CandidateClinical Psychologist skills and qualifications
  • Professional registration with HCPC.
  • Doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology.
  • Recognise the need to promote safe practice and value the aims of service users.
  • Clinical experience (NHS experience is desirable).
  • Consultation and teaching skills.
  • Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing.
  • General skills in use of IT applications.
