Applications Team ManagerFantastic opportunity and a managerial position for a passionate people leader with a background delivering best-in-class IT service for a Local Authority in the Midlands. Applicants will have demonstrable experience leading teams which may include IT Operations, Application Support, App Development, Integration or similar. Excellent opportunity!Client DetailsMy client is a Local Authority who are embarking on an exciting, planned and strategic organisational redesign, which has opened up a number of opportunities for experienced IT professionals and managers in the Midlands to join them on their journey. They are open to candidates across the Midlands from a variety of industry sectors and will allow people to work from home 2 - 3 days per week, post-pandemic.My client is an equal opportunity employer. All applicants will be considered for employment without attention to ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, family or parental status, national origin, veteran, neurodiversity status or disability status.DescriptionResponsibility for the management, training, leadership and motivation of a team of 4 direct reports and 45 - 50 indirect FTEEnsuring a best-in-class service for large user-base (3000 - 5000)Business partnering, supplier relationship management and alignment with the leadership team in IT Application Support environmentProblem solving in fast paced environmentsExecute the relevant policies and procedures to ensure the outcomes are deliveredDeliver continuous improvement plansRecruit and ensure effective on-boarding of team membersMonitors the service performance frameworkProfileMust have both a demonstrable track record and a passion for leading a team within an IT Enviromnment (Application support preferred)Should be empathetic in nature, willing to support, guide, continuously improve / train and motivate a teamExcellent communication and business partnering skills, with the ability to work with the senior leadership team, external suppliers, team members and end usersPreferred candidates will have experience in managing budgets and driving down costs, through contract / SLA management, process efficiency and process / continuous improvementApplicants will have knowledge of ITIL, desirable to have CI training or qualifications such as Lean Six SigmaJob Offer£40,000 - £50,000 DOE + benefits + 50% work from home Required skills
