Job Description

A Mechanical Design Engineer / Bespoke Machinery contract has become available, within a business that supplies revolutionary technology to the Industrial sector. As they work through a huge period of growth, this world leading company is looking to expand on its Design team and this contractor could be required for 12+ months. Utilising the latest technology and everyones key skill-set on site, this client continues to maintain cutting edge innovation and break boundaries within its area of expertise.The successful professional will be responsible for the ongoing design of an existing product range, whilst liaising with the Development team on future offerings.Mechanical Design Engineer duties include -

  • Design simple hand operating fixtures, through to more complex automated products.
  • Provide technical support to the Development department.
  • Support resolutions of manufacturing based concerns relevant to processes, new products, productivity, waste, quality and safety.
  • Produce assembly drawings, compile bills of materials (BOM) and document changes.
  • Provide technical support to Customers as and when required.
  • Required skills/experience/attributes -
  • Experience in a similar position.
  • Knowledge of modern manufacturing methods and techniques.
  • Ability to use calculations and knowledge to provide technical solutions.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pressure vessels and fluid flows.
  • Knowledge of electrical circuits, wiring harnesses etc (desirable).
  • Relevant engineering education and/or training.
