Job Description

Category Manager who has an excellent track record as a strategic sourcing or procurement professional with a good understanding of key practices in Human Resources/HR procurement is required for a leading national company based in Warwick,Warwickshire, West Midlands.There are several key areas that this role will focus on in the new year including; Recruitment, Learning and Development, Occupational Health and General HR services including Payroll services and helping to develop the new employee value proposition.SALARY: £45,000 - £55,000 per annum + Generous Benefits (see below)LOCATION: Hybrid working from Home and the office in Warwick - Candidates must live within a commutable distance to WarwickJOB TYPE: Full-Time, PermanentJOB OVERVIEWWe have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Category Manager who has an excellent track record as a strategic sourcing or procurement professional with a good understanding of key practices in Human Resources/HR procurement.The primary function of the Category Manager / HR role is to set category strategy, support strategic sourcing and supplier performance management activities for assigned spend categories.As the Category Manager you will be responsible for delivering category and sourcing strategies for HR, under the guidance of the Principal Category Manager. Sourcing activities will include analysis, supply market research, identification and qualificationof potential vendors, preparation of tender documentation, management of competitive sourcing processes and analysis of bidder responses.In supplier performance management you will undertake specific initiatives which will drive incremental value for the company as part of a centrally co-ordinated supplier relationship management programme.APPLY TODAYIf this job looks like your ideal position, then please send in your CV as soon as possible for our Recruitment Team to review.DUTIESYour duties as the Category Manager include:

  • Develop category and sourcing strategies for higher value, higher complexity categories, applying analysis of relevant category data, and internal & external insight
  • Manage assigned categories and the delivery of sourcing projects with associated savings and other benefits
  • Lead higher value / higher complexity sourcing projects within scope of the assigned categories
  • Continually track the supply market, keeping abreast of developments, trends, risks and opportunities
  • Develop both expertise and corporate intelligence and intellectual property on the assigned (sub)categories, as relevant
  • Support organisation-wide procedures for governance, risk and compliance management that manage, mitigate and minimise risks
  • Acquire, maintain and develop expertise, knowledge and information to support continuous improvement
  • Communicate and manage relationships with external suppliers as part of the centrally co-ordinated supplier relationship management programme
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
  • Experience and an excellent track record as a strategic sourcing or procurement professional including a track record of continuous improvement and delivery of results in a variety of commercial settings
  • Good understanding and experience of key practices in Human Resources/HR procurement
  • Demonstrates relevant HR Category expertise and/or evidences transferrable skills across category areas
  • Experience in personally conducting procurement activities, including requirement definition, sourcing planning, supplier management and competitive bidding, in line with the agreed strategy for the relevant categories of spend
  • Business requirements analysis, contract drafting and commercial acumen, stakeholder and supplier management, preparation of negotiation materials and approaches
  • Strategic sourcing process management and supplier performance management
  • Intermediate user of MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Word
