This role is key part of the EHS Team, and the role holder will lead on designing & implementing an internal competency assessment framework as well as identifying notable Skills gaps and support in the planning of the IngevityWarrington competency programme for the long-term strategy of the business.How you will impact Ingevity:

  • To develop, maintain and ensure effective management of the operational training & assessment programme within Ingevity UK Ltd, the role holder provides proactive and reactive advice in all areas of assessment, training and competence within site EHS operations- through support and guidance to the business to ensure statutory compliance, standards compliance and best industry practice (IQA, NOS, NVQs)
  • Improve assessment standards and best practice within EHS and deliver a programme of assessor/assessment training, while monitoring the activities of trained assessors and ensuring all assessments are conducted fairly
  • Arrange and deliver suitable practical and regulatory training/assessment courses to satisfy the requirements identified, include sourcing external training, toolbox talks, third part trainers, internal trainers etc
  • Responsible for developing appropriate Key Performance Indicators in the areas of regulatory training & competency. Provide commentary on trending and present reporting and corrective actions plans/projects, as appropriate, to management meetings
  • Responsible for the development, maintenance and assessment of training plans specific to each procedure/process
  • Develop and maintain individual training and assessment plans for each member of staff and embedded contractors, in the production facility
  • Responsible for the management of training & assessment administration systems to ensure robust proof of competency and quality levels are sustained
What you need to succeed:
  • Recognised qualification ideally to degree level and will possess a relevant Internal Quality Assurance qualification and/or Assessor qualification or be willing to work towards the TAQA IQA qualification
  • Experience of developing Competence Profiles and working with National Occupational Standards (NOS)
  • Experience of working with NVQs / Competence-Based Standards within the chemical manufacturing or other production/manufacturing related industries
  • Proven skills in designing/leading Internal programmes of training & assessment which cover statutory standards and compliance for EHS
  • Demonstrable experience in the designing and implementing of a wide variety of assessment tools and materials across a multi-skilled workforce, with specific skills matrices and individual assessment plans
  • Strong ability to drive through new methodology and continuous improvement principles within a fast-growing business
  • Great communication skills and the ability to develop long-term cross functional and collaborative working relationships with stakeholders, across all operational environments
