What youll be doing: Sous Chef - WarringtonUp to £27,000 per annum (DOE)Monday to Friday - however flexibility required to support with events on evenings and weekends.We are looking for a talented, enthusiastic Sous Chef for our dedicated catering team at The EngineRooms at Birchwood Park in Warrington,producing outstanding food using the finest and freshest ingredients in this prestigious contract. This site offersbreakfast,lunch, late lunch events and meeting rooms.EngineRooms at Birchwood Park is ashowcase for great food, drink and event spaces, a place filled with a great character regular events and live music.The EngineRooms offers a unique and inviting place to meet and work, grab a bite to eat, and relax withfriends. Our food hall offers an ever-changing fresh food offering from pizza, bistro, street food and salad’s we have it all covered. More about the role:

• The Sous Chef will plan, organise and direct the preparation and cooking of food ensuring that the company’s reputation for quality is enhanced with customers and clients at all times
• Taking responsibility for the food production with a hands-on approach
• Driving sales through centrally driven menu planning and promotions and preferred suppliers
• Responsible for all aspects of food safety, HS and COSHH
• The Sous Chef will also be required to implement and maintain food monitoring procedures to facilitate budgetary control and to monitor all costs involved in the kitchen against agreed budget
• Build and grow the offering with a view to:Produce and improve the current Grab & Go offering,Grow the meeting and events business,continuallydevelop a consistent catering service

Who you are:

• Previous culinary experience ideally in a hotel, events or restaurant setting
• Understanding of a busy kitchen
• A clear understanding of profit margins, purchasing policy, budgeting and food costing, including control
• Excellent time management and organisational skills.
• Excellent and Innovative culinary and presentation skills
• Excellent Communication and Interpersonal skills
• Energetic with a passion to do a great job
• Able to manage staff in a calm, inspirational manner
• A forward-thinker who can prevent wastage
• Demonstrates a passion for food
• Team Player
• Excellent organisation skills
• Numerate and computer literate with an understanding of financial drivers
