Job Description

A PE backed national business that is growing at an impressive rate through acquisition is seeking to recruit a highly competent Senior Payroll Assistant to support the Payroll Manager in the monthly and annual payroll routines, in accordance with internalcontrol procedures and statutory requirements relevant to the business. You should display an energy and enthusiasm to work on your own initiative whilst overseeing a team of 3 payroll assistants. As well as the regular duties detailed below you will be encouraged to integrate new acquisitions into the business. The current payroll package is Sage and ERNI, experience of which would be advantageous but not essential, along with proficiency in Excel egPivot Tables and VLOOKUP’s. The ability to be able to work in a busy, ever changing work environment teamed with excellent prioritising and organisational skills are essential. Duties:

  • Provide support in the maintenance of all payroll records
  • Assist in the preparation of the monthly payroll for North and South employees
  • Process timesheets and update records accordingly recording holiday, absences and calculating bonus
  • Aid with transfer salaries monthly by BACS
  • Process travel and other expense claims for payment through the payroll and analyse expenditure for updating accounts in the general ledger
  • Update the general ledger
  • Assist with production of PSA submission to HMRC and P11D production
