This is an exciting time for the Nuclear team with an interesting and expanding pipeline of both internationaland UK based projects.We are looking for individuals who can apply their skills independently - and as part of a team - to deliver projects to the benefit of our Clients. Inherently the projects are multi-disciplinary and may be at any stage in the project life cycle. Our projectsrange from client consultancy support to complete turn-key solutions.As Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will manage more junior staff and project report on their packages of work. Additional responsibilities may include the client interface, preparation of bids and proposals and then managing the delivery of the projects inaccordance with AECOMs quality, safety and environmental procedures.Minimum Requirements

  • Current experience working in a post where design was a major part of the role.
  • Previous experience in the design and delivery of complex, high specification packaged systems.
  • Have a working knowledge of appropriate nuclear standards and specifications as well as general engineering standards.
  • Able to demonstrate good knowledge and experience in producing and having input to; Mechanical hand sketches; 3D scheme models; Functional calculations; Design risk assessments; Directive compliance assessments; Commissioning activities; Post project reviewmeetings.
  • Detail design generation including;
    • 3D detail models
    • Detail functional calculations
    • Detail design risk assessments
    • Directive compliance assessments
    • Participate in Design Reviews at all Project Phases.
    • Production of manufacturing documentation including; 2D part, fabrication and assembly drawings Factory acceptance tests Method statements Operation, maintenance and installation manuals.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Mechanical Engineering Degree.
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) with IMechE or equivalent institute.
  • Able to meet the requirements for security clearance in the UK.
