Job Description

Purchasing Manager - FMCG - WarringtonClient DetailsMy client is an established, high growth FMCG based business with a global B2B customer base. They are investing to support further growth, developing capability in key, strategic functions. The organisation is highly reliant on a global supply base thatneed further support and growing to meet future demand. The client currently operates on a distribution model currently, and are moving to own brand development as a focus.DescriptionAs the Purchasing Manager you will:

  • Review current systems and processes in place, assessing fit for purposes and development opportunities
  • Support the leadership team to devise an approach that enables best in class customer service, and meets growth objectives
  • Assess and manage risk in the supply base, including capacity constraints, availability in shipping, NPD capability, and quality. As a result you may need to implement supplier management tools, contracts, and introduce dual sourcing opportunities (includingon-shoring)
  • Understand and manage inventory required to support the current and future order book. The incumbent will need to engage with the Warrington based warehouse function to understand capacity constraints / through put
  • Engage with quality, sales ( Warrington based), and 3rd party manufacturing to develop accurate forecasts
ProfileThe ideal candidate will be:
  • Already operating as a Purchasing Manager within an FMCG (ideally cosmetics or home & personal care)
  • Used to having a high level of autonomy, and operating in a entrepreneurial business
  • Proven in the development of processes and systems to support an effective purchasing function
  • Strong track record of supporting NPD, engaging with global suppliers
  • Have worked within both a raw material and finished product sourcing environment
