Job Description

Job Title: Purchasing Assistant (Stock Controller & Expeditor)Location: Hybrid, WarringtonSalary: Up to £21,000Hours: Mon - Fri 8am - 5pmAbout the Role:You will be responsible for effectively and proactively managing the replenishment of stock items for our clients stores.Key Responsibilities:Stock Control:

  • To effectively and proactively manage the replenishment of stock items for Client stores
  • To place purchase orders where required using the SAP System
  • To assist with the expediting of outstanding purchase orders when required and to communicate directly with the Stores on confirmed lead times
  • Liaise with Stores personnel to respond to request and/or resolve any queries
  • Manage the creation and supply of new stock lines for the client
  • Amend current stock lines on the system(s) on a daily basis
  • Effectively manage personal workload on a daily basis, prioritising requests and agreed actions in line with strict deadlines
  • Carry out such other duties which are consistent with the nature and responsibilities of the role
Expediting:
  • To expedite orders in a timely manner to ensure the delivery of goods in line with stores operational requirement
  • Liaise directly with customers in receipt of direct orders to confirm the delivery of goods and to update records on SAP accordingly
  • Work closely with Stores personnel to progress any goods with a protracted delivery date, supplying relevant documentation to enable the receipt of goods into the SAP system
  • Accurately record all communications with Stores personnel and Vendors into the SAP system
  • Amend current stock lines on the system to reflect description, Supplier and inventory level changes where appropriate
  • identify and escalate poor service levels from Vendors to the Inventory Control Manager
  • To effectively manage personal workload on a daily basis, prioritising requests and agreed actions in line with strict deadlines
  • To carry out such other duties which are consistent with the nature and responsibilities of the role
Skills & Knowledge Required:
  • A positive attitude with the ability to deliver excellent Client experience and satisfaction
  • Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient planning and organisational skills with a methodical and logical approach
  • Strong ICT skills with proficient use of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
  • Proven experience of high volume transaction process, preferably withing a shared service environment
  • Experience of ensuring quality standards are maintained alongside a strong performance management culture
  • Experience of process and system improvement initiatives
  • Sound knowledge of SAP is advantageous
