Proposals ManagerLocation: Warrington (with flexible working) Business Unit: Cavendish NuclearREF: SF35911About MeHere at Cavendish Nuclear, we are currently recruiting for a Proposals ManagerWe are proud to be the UKs leading supplier to the nuclear industry and a growing global force. From our inception during the earliest days of nuclear research and development, we recognised that a focus on people and the expertise they deliver is the keyto meeting the challenges of this exciting technology.The breadth of our expertise means we are able to offer unrivalled experience and specialist knowledge across all aspects of the nuclear energy life cycle, from design and build, through operations and maintenance, to decommissioning, waste management andremediation.In this role, your focus will be to ensure the strongest possible proposal is submitted to a customer. Predominantly this will be with respect to written proposal documents in response to an Invitation to Tender (ITT) but prequalifications, expressionsof interest, value propositions and other sales documents also sit within the role. Success will be achieved through applying experience and best practise, engaging the Babcock bid writing and review process.Key duties will include:

  • To manage the generation of high scoring (against customer marking criteria) proposals and other sales literature. Ultimate success will therefore be submission of a winning bid.
  • To engage and work closely with the Bid Manager and the wider consultancy team in ensuring proposal preparation is followed in an effective and efficient manner. The proposal (and its sub-sections) will be strictly prepared to a bid programme / milestonesand bid budget.
  • To ensure that the storyboard approach is applied to all scored proposals (unless agreed by a bid not to be applied) and to organise provision of boilerplate and standard company information in response to pass/fail and other unscored response sections.
  • To lead or assist in the development graphics content, structure (template), style guide and production approach for each proposal document.
  • To assist the bid in operating on sharepoint, on customer procurement portals (e.g. CTM). With respect to bidsites on sharepoint also interface with key supply-chain/partners where they are directly supporting a proposal.
  • Engage with a varied range of SMEs, capability and business personnel during proposal preparation - including for reviews.
Knowledge, Skills and QualificationsYou will have previous experience in a Proposals or Bid Support / Coordination role, ideally in the engineering, construction or similar sectorsYou will have excellent organisation skills, and be comfortable in working to multiple deadlines, and getting into the detail of complex informationWe would also like you to have the following skills:
  • Microsoft Office, to include Excel and Word proficiency
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Experience of using SharePoint is desirable, but not essential
