Job Description

PMO ManagerFTC until October 2021Warrington£40,000 - £50,000Optionis is one of the UK’s leading professional services groups, and we are looking for a tenacious, articulate and personable PMO Manager to join on a fixed term contract until October 2021.As our specialist in PMO best-practice you will join our Transformational Change function, you’ll set up and manage the governance and controls required to assure the successful delivery of our strategy.What we are looking for:

  • A demonstrable understanding of creating and implementing governance across a PMO
  • We are a small team, so a pragmatic hands-on approach is essential.
  • A keen eye for detail and excellent communication skills

  • Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Governance
  • Support the development and implementation of consistent governance standards, including leading on the definition and implementation of tolerances and RAG status criteria
  • Actively manage the portfolio level risks, assumptions, issues and dependencies (RAID) register using management reports and the outcomes of project and Executive level meetings and workshops and carry out portfolio reviews with the wider Transformational Change and Senior Management Team
  • Implement and manage the project assurance process, and carry out reviews as required
  • Programme and portfolio resource tracking and analysis
  • Project/ Programme Support
  • Support key stakeholders and seek to improve key reporting tasks (e.g. preparation of Steering Committee pack, progress reporting, performance analysis and issues, risks, assumptions, and dependency maintenance)
  • Ensure that all projects have a controlled start up and closure
  • Maintaining Control
  • Regular identification, management and reporting of programme risk in accordance with the Group Risk Management Framework
  • Work with the Finance business partner to track actual programme costs against agreed budget and forecast
  • Set up and manage the portfolio-level benefits register and support with project benefits tracking, ensuring that all benefits are identified and monitored
  • Understand and communicate key internal and external assumptions and dependencies
