Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Planning and Scheduling Manager to join a busy team in the Developer Services department at United Utilities. The role is based in their fantastic head office in Great Sankey, Warrington.Job PurposeTo lead and manage operational activity within Developer Services & Metering via management of contractor back office resources delivering a full range of planning & scheduling activities.Lead the scheduling teams to ensure the correct deployment of resource across both Developer Services & Metering operations and also that of our partner organisations Manage the delivery of exceptional customer experience, quality, operational efficiency and cost effectiveness throughout the customer journey on behalf of Developer Services & Metering.Accountabilities* Responsible for development of the Scheduling strategy for Developer Services & Metering and creation and implementation of a robust operational delivery plan to ensure realisation and sustainable benefits within the operational area for all initiatives.* Responsible for development of business plans for operational areas and the management of the Scheduling activities within budget. * Sets and delivers against Scheduling KPIs and operational targets to deliver business plan.* Responsible for the review of the end to end customer experience on behalf of Developer Services & Metering business to ensure that all operational areas have robust controls and checks in place to mitigate risk and increase performance outputs.* Responsible for driving the Scheduling teams to seek out opportunities for continuous improvement, efficiencies and quality of service.* Responsible for building a strong performance culture within the team by role modelling the leadership competencies and values.* Provision of leadership to the operational team and ensure that individual team members are engaged, deliver high potential and are developed to realise their full potential. Ensuring that each member of the team delivers their responsibilities by providingclear direction, support, feedback and training* Ensuring a customer awareness culture and delivery approach is developed and delivered throughout the Developer Services & Metering businessKnowledge and Skills* Educated to degree level (or equivalent) or able to demonstrate relevant leadership experience in the planning & scheduling discipline* Experience of operational management gained within the utility industry and the ability to create and deliver operational plans to meet the requirements for United Utilities* Significant experience of successfully leading and managing multiple teams across a range of activities to deliver operational requirements* Proven experience of strategy interpretation and development and be able to deliver in order to fulfil the plans* Well-developed analytical skills and a proven track record in identifying issues and driving through solutions to a wide range of financial, technical and managerial problems* Proven track record of operation and strategic management to provide high levels of operational efficiency and cost effectiveness* Excellent communication (verbal and written) and influencing skills at all levels within the organisation translating company goals into day to day objectives* A customer focus and innovative approach to enhancing operational working practices* Resilience and tenacity.
