Job Description

We are seeking a meticulous Payroll Clerk to join a leading construction business in their Accounting & Finance department. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and up to date experience within the payroll field.Client DetailsOur client is a reputable construction company based in Warrington with a workforce of over 500 employees. The organisation is known for its commitment to excellence and having a strong presence in its sector across the UK.DescriptionThe key duties for the Payroll Clerk are:

  • Manage and maintain payroll information by collecting, calculating, and entering data
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies by collecting and analysing information
  • Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and requirements
  • Prepare reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, and non-taxable wages
  • Answer staff queries regarding payroll and resolve any payroll errors
  • Ensure all payroll transactions are processed efficiently
  • Manage and maintain employee records
  • Perform any other duties assigned
ProfileA successful Payroll Clerk should have:
  • A strong understanding of payroll systems and processes
  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Excellent numeracy skills and the ability to handle large volumes of data accurately
  • A good knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel
  • Strong communication skills to deal with staff at all levels
  • Qualifications in a relevant field
