Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Payroll Administrator to join a fast-growing Services Business based close to Warrington.Reporting to the Finance Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and processing weekly and monthly payrolls, liaising with local management teams to resolve apparent anomalies from time and attendance systems to minimise risk of incorrect payments.
  • Calculation of holiday pay for non salaried staff
  • Ensure HMRC compliance in respect of deduction and payment of Income Tax, National Insurance and other statutory amounts.
  • Ensure all necessary SAYE, attachment of earnings, salary sacrifice or other approved deductions from payroll are processed with timely payments to the relevant third parties
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting under Real Time Information and provision of P45 and P60 information to employees.
  • Dealing with individual employee pay queries
  • Supporting HR and other senior management as required for formal investigations including employee complaints and HMRC or DWP enquiries
  • Ensure timely deduction and upload of pension contributions and new joiner data to the scheme provider / group pensions liaison, and support the ongoing compliance with pension auto-enrolment obligations across the division
  • Prepare the information to support the finance management team with accurate claims under the CJRS
  • Complete monthly management reports to ensure accurate recording of costs in the divisional accounts, including pay accrual calculations, headcount reports and VAT scale charges
  • Ensure all year end payroll processes are completed, including preparation of P60, P11D and PSA compliance.
  • Support the budget setting processes for all payroll related costs for the division
  • Support processing and payment of staff expenses
  • Provide ad-hoc reporting as required by various functions, including Finance and HR, including gender pay gap reporting.
  • Support payroll improvement projects including ongoing payroll consolidation and improvements to cost recording and payroll balance sheet account reconciliations
  • Ad hoc duties as required
  • To be considered for this role, you must have the following:
  • Experience in payroll preparation, including PAYE, NIC and pension deductions
  • Experience of payroll software, Iris would be of particular advantage
  • Strong excel skills to manipulate data from multiple formats
  • Experience of interrogating time and attendance systems
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • This is a fantastic permanent opportunity where you will be part of a friendly, hardworking team.
