Job Responsibilities:- Production of monthly management accounts, including journal entries, reconciling accounts, and producing financial reports, in line with internal reporting deadlines.- Complete variance analysis, including high-level commentary.- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations.- Calculate and post monthly Work in Progress (WIP) balances.- Analyse and report revenue data.- Calculate monthly storage charges.- Calculate and post monthly accruals & prepayments.- Maintain the fixed asset register and Hire Purchase (HP) schedule, accounting for additions & disposals.- Calculate customer & supplier rebate schemes.- Complete board pack slides in Excel & PowerPoint.- Investigate and implement additional reporting requirements to support the businesss decision-making.- Calculate & submit Value Added Tax (VAT) & Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) returns in line with HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) deadlines.- Cash management including cash drawdowns, forecasting, payment processing, and banking reconciliations.- Annual Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) levy calculation and submission.- Complete Office for National Statistics (ONS) surveys.- Assist with the year-end audit, compiling necessary information, and liaising with the team.- Assist within the finance department as and when required.Payroll Responsibilities:- Collate & submit monthly payroll data to the outsourced processing team, including first-level review.- Process starters and leavers, completing manual calculations as required.- Ensure payroll queries are dealt with quickly and efficiently.- Maintain accurate records.- Process weekly employee expense claims.- PAYE and pension contributions reconciliation, submission, and payment.- Maintenance and payment of Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) status.- Calculate and submit annual P11d returns, in line with HMRC deadlines, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records throughout the year.Person Specification:- Minimum part qualified (CIMA / ACCA / ACA).- Proven track record in a similar role.- Ability to work well under pressure - both independently and within a team.- Highly motivated for the delivery of accurate and high-quality work.- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise a demanding workload, adhering to reporting deadlines.- Strong analytically and numerical abilities.- Excellent attention to detail.- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Excel.- Excellent communication skills - written & verbal.- Experience with Sage 200 would be advantageous but not necessary.Required skills
