Reed Warrington are delighted to be working with a well-established client in the local service sector. Due to expansion they are currently recruiting an Operations Manager to report directly into the Operations Director. My client is looking for a true people person who will report directly to the Operations Director and will have the upmost responsibility for ensuring the business deliver the highest quality of service.This role will be very much employee facing where the successful candidate will be tasked with managing the relationship between Duty Supervisors and employees and the day to day running of the service. The business is striving to improve the culture of the business and so is looking for somebody who is used to the cut and thrust of an operational environment, albeit perhaps in a different field or industry. My client welcomes candidates with sector experience such as Retail, Haulage, logistics, Restaurant, and hotel backgrounds so long as the candidate can demonstrate they can successfully lead and develop a team with skills required to bring people onboard.The role will require the successful candidate to “handle” the day to day operation and attend regular meetings, so a professional manner and good communication skills are a must. Will have responsibility for supporting the Allocations officer, Administrator and Supervisors by signing off and managing all interchange shifts and rosters including the Duty Supervisors.Recruiting enough drivers, managing their conduct through the HR process, building a team, being aware of perception and able to influence, and IT literate.The Operations Manager will be responsible for the performance reviewing and development of the Duty Supervisors (and any other relevant supervisors/management staff). They will be targeted with deliver KPIs to their team that amount to the targets set for their role. Managing employee engagement, communications, morale, and relationships is a key responsibility of this role. Ensuring and sickness/absence is managed effectively, as well as ensuring compliance with other operational policies and procedures.To manage and have an overview of the allocations systems that is utilised by the Duty Supervisors, delivering an effective, efficient, and excellent service to the public.
