Together, we work as One Murphy by directly delivering the people, plant and expertise needed to make projects a success.Theres more to Murphy.Job description:Mobile Handyman North and MidlandsThis is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced handyman who has previous exposure of both hard and soft facilities. You will cover our offices in the North and Midlands with the main base being either Stonecross or Golborne.You will report directly to the Facilities Manager, the role of Mobile Handyman will be orientated around providing site support to the point of contactsover the Murphy Facilities team and across the Murphy estate ensuring that high levels of service areprovided to all stakeholders across all areas of hard and soft facility management.What you will be doing

  • Procurement, arranging and collecting materials as required to carry out the role
  • Management of outsourced contracts as required with regards to H&S.to assist the POC (point of contacts)at an appropriate level
  • Assist the POC to complete items originating from the CAFM system
  • Assisting with the completion of a Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) system within the Murphy estate supporting the avoidance of incidents and issues.at an appropriate level
  • Energy and utility management across all offices to ensure this is being reduced over the long term .
  • Ensure incidents and requests are dealt with efficiently and professionally and that they are closed out and monitored effectively
  • Work in a manner that promotes best practice in health, safety, quality, sustainability, and environmental matters in conjunction with the SHESQ department.
  • To comply with company standards, policies and procedures.
  • Always act in a responsible manner with regard to conduct both while on site and while representing the company, including while driving a vehicle provided by the company
  • Assisting the site POC with fire alarm and system tests
  • Gaining sufficient site knowledge to stand in for the site POC if required
  • Establish a strong working relationship with the Facilities Manager and site POCs and acroos the whole organisation at all levels.
  • Ability to manage and build relationship with diverse stakeholders.
  • Regularly visits locations within the estate to gain knowledge of the locations and improve Facilities ability deliver best practice
  • Client facing, representing the facility department and protocols
  • Procure items at best value through the procurement team
  • On-going management of the Murphy estate in line with agreed annual budget.
  • Act in an honest and accountable way when involved in any activity requiring funding
Who we are looking for
  • Relevant competency skills cards required for an FM role, CSCS
  • Previous experience reacting to hard and soft FM services
  • Recognised industry or college course or qualification which demonstrates that the candidate has sufficient knowledge to carry out the responsibilities and duties
  • Ability to use and experience of CAFM tracking incidents and work
  • Ability to use excel and word or other office protocols.
  • Experience in working in a hot-desk or Agile working environment
  • Understanding of M&E systems to the extent to be able to refer the issues to a specialist or pass on information to the site POC for contact of a specialist contractor
  • Has relevant Health and Safety qualification (eg. IOSH) Desirable.
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • First aid qualification is desirable.
