Job Description

My client is seeking an ambitious and confident graduate to join their team of consultant specialising in databases. You will be required to work alongside Senior Consultants on specific projects, and in provision of customer operational support.The position is based in Eccles, Manchester and the salary for this role between £18,000 - £22,000. They are looking for someone with basic understanding of databases, ideally has software testing experience, and have strong communication and relationship building skills.Responsibilities:

  • Working in a team environment, to concurrently deliver multiple projects which support the complex and demanding requirements of project delivery
  • Acting as an advocate for the end-user within the project delivery team.
  • Assessing progress against project delivery plans and report risks to the project team.
  • Seeking continuous improvements in implementation of processes and procedures and deliver independently or with the team.
    • Knowledge:
  • Basic understanding and knowledge of databases (DB2, Oracle, MSSQL preferred).
  • Basic SQL skills.
  • Understanding of the basic principles of software delivery techniques.
  • Basic organisational and time management skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated and quick learner.
    • Essential / Desirable
  • Basic Structured Query Language (SQL) writing skills - essential
  • Graduate education in a relevant degree or subsequent highly applicable work history - essential
  • Demonstrable understanding and knowledge of databases - desirable
  • Understanding of data replication technologies - desirable
  • Ability to work in a structured manner and on multiple projects simultaneously - essential
  • Experience providing support to customers or end users - desirable
  • Basic understanding of IT Networking & Communications - desirable
