Job Description

An exciting opportunity for an experienced ICT manager to work for a well-respected client in the Education sector. With a broad range of responsibilities, the successful candidate will manage our clients ICT provision and be a key member in an established ICT team.Role OverviewThis temporary role is initially for 2-3 months contract and offers a salary of £40,000 - £45,000 pro rata. The role is a great opportunity for an experienced ICT manager to provide efficient and effective ICT technical support to our client.Responsibilities:

  • Advise and lead our clients ICT procedures.
  • Implement and communicate ICT development plans.
  • Install, maintain, and update our clients computer hardware and software, and maintain up to date records of all hardware and software.
  • Create a disaster recovery plan.
  • Manage the expansion of our clients network infrastructure.
  • Be aware of ICT developments.
  • Support our clients staff with ICT use and set up, including buying new equipment when needed.
  • Printer maintenance.
  • Manage all internal ICT accounts and create new accounts when needed.
  • Ensure all support tickets are resolved efficiently.
  • Support and manage our clients database infrastructure.
  • Assist in supporting and maintaining CCTV systems.
  • Provide regular ICT reports for senior management.
  • Maintain appropriate firewalls for all systems.
  • Train new staff on ICT equipment and use.
  • Be aware of data protection legislation and GDPR, and ensure our client is fully compliant.
  • Manage ICT staff and develop a staffing plan for the ICT team.
  • Manage our clients ICT budget.
  • Ensure all SLAs are achieved and negotiate SLAs when required.
    • Essential Qualifications, Experience and Knowledge:
  • A levels (or equivalent) and minimum of grade C in GCSE English and Maths.
  • ITQ level 4 or Microsoft Certification IT Professional level 4.
  • 3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Working knowledge of Office 365 cloud services.
  • Successful previous experience in a senior (management) level IT role.
  • Technical background in computers, software and hardware including an understanding of networks, LAN, and WAN.
  • Experience and awareness of relevant ICT legislation.
  • Knowledge of budget planning.
  • Experience of troubleshooting technical issues and hardware problems.
  • Understanding of internet protocols and client/server architecture.
  • Knowledge of IP telecommunications.

  • Comfortable leading and motivating a team.
  • A keen interest in your own CPD.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
