Health & Safety ManagerFull Time PermanentSalary: competitive/negotiable DOEMy client, a global online retail company, is currently looking for an enthusiastic Health and Safety Manager to be based in their fulfilment centre.Year-on-year, as they continue to grow, they need to work as smart as they can, to keep all of their team members fulfilled, motivated and empowered. With your Bias for Action, theyll need you to step in and take real ownership of Health and Safety in one of our Fulfilment Centre.The Fulfilment Centres are at the heart of my clients rapidly growing business: theyre where they manage their fast-moving inventory. Their associate teams stow deliveries, pick products, package them up and ship them out: each of these groups have played their part in taking the business to new heights.Its in this logistics environment that they will need an experienced Health and Safety Manager to play a critical role. You will be managing overall Health and Safety standards in this Fulfilment Centres, while also working towards the continuous improvement of functionality and efficiency.ResponsibilitiesYou will be managing key aspects of output: people management, metrics, productivity targets, and process improvements. The extent of your duties will include:Managing Health and Safety and employee satisfaction at your Fulfilment Centres, including supervising employee wellbeing and productivityProactively collaborating on Health and Safety projects, across all UK-based Operations sitesProviding authoritative guidance on Health & Safety matters to all stakeholders, especially on those relating to your designated area of responsibilityReview and audit arrangements for Health & Safety management, while continuously improving these arrangements where appropriatePlan and strategize work systems around reducing Health and Safety risks, e.g. recommending suitable adaptations to machinery and processesEnsure robust reporting regimes are in place for Health and Safety statisticsProvide management with information and statistics related to your area of responsibilitySupport business change, via effective change management processes in the context of your Fulfilment Centres fast-paced environmentDrive behavioural culture change programmes, across a large, complex, multi-shift operationImplement and review global safety policies, ensuring that local legislative requirements are also met.BASIC QUALIFICATIONSEducated to degree level, and/or qualified to NVQ5/NEBOSH Diploma level: you have significant Health and Safety experience, ideally gained in a logistics environmentYoure a chartered member of an industry body representing the interest of Human Resources, such as IOSH (CMIOSH) or equivalentFlexible approach to work, while always managing your own priorities and workloadYoure able to effectively lead and manage a teamYou possess excellent communication and influencing skills: youre also results-oriented and tenaciousYoure also comfortable communicating at all levels of seniority within a large organisationYou possess an in-depth understanding of EU & UK Health and Safety legislationYou can quickly build credibility, using your influencing skills and strategies to build buy-in for changeDemonstrable record of driving significant change through an operation.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSYou possess experience of Lean, 5S and Kaizen methodologiesQualifications or experience of environmentally-conscious initiatives would be advantageous.
