The Role: Head of SHEQ - NRSWA.Location: National role so work from homeSalary: Circa £65-70,000 plus benefitsThis is a new role for a full fibre, client side telecoms network company and were looking to bring someone in and sit in an overriding role to ensure best practise when it comes to HSEQ compliance across the business. Its large scale network infrastructure build so you would own all aspects of SHEQ linked to the construction and delivery of the network and then would also own compliance and quality, via two reports that would sit under the position. This is a managementrole, so your leadership ability is going to be important and we are open minded as to people coming from either telecoms network build, or one of the other utilities. The company going through rapid growth, so we need a head of department to join the business and make sure everything is in order by way of HSEQ / SHEQ standards and compliance.Much of the remit will be to review and then implement process as while the company have been using a consultant in the role to date, the time is right to bring in permanent resource to own and drive the function long term.Ideally, wed be looking to bring someone in who is chartered level IOSH (CMIOSH) but are happy to talk with SHEQ leaders that can demonstrate the equivalent level experience from either the telecoms, highways or utilities sectors. We are open minded aboutlocation as this role will work from home and then assumed business travel as and when needed but an advantage would be a North West England base due to the location of the company head office. The attitude in the business is that compliance / quality of the build would be key and its following legislation / guidelines in accordance with NRSWA, Traffic Management Act and the Highways Act.Its a client and contractor delivery model and while the relationship with the range of contract partners is good, this new role will make sure everything is in order as the build continues to ramp up.The position is a new one, so youll have a lot of influence to shape how things will work, so this is going to suit someone who can think on the feet and enjoy the challenge of coming into something new, rather than trying to reverse engineer the finishedarticle. This means a lot of opportunity for the right person, as you would get a lot of flexibility as to how things will work, and the position reports directly to the COO.Role will offer vehicle or allowance, alongside solid benefits associated with a role at this level.
