The UKs leading airfield lighting specialistJob Title:Electronics Test EngineerBased at: Lowton, Warrington Hours: Monday to Friday 8.30 am to 5.00 pmSalary : Around £28k - £30k per annum depending on qualifications and experienceThe work will involve test, fault finding and repair of pcbs as well as other electrical circuitry, including finished products such as Airfield Light fittings, Constant Current Regulators and other Airfield Lighting products. Updating of pcb parts liststo specify alternative equivalent components when the originally specified parts are not available. Ability to use pcb CAD software (ideally Proteus) to modify pcb layouts. There is a possible requirement for some site work at UK or international airportsif the candidate has an aptitude for this type of work.Key Responsibilities:Test and repair of electrical and electronic assemblies Production of test rigsFilling out test certificates, non conformance documents etc Providing technical assistance to other departmentsPersonal skills and qualifications of Electronics Test Engineer:Preferably qualified to HNC in electronic engineering ( minimum)ExperienceMinimum of 2 years experience in a similar roleAble to fault find and repair to pcb component levelExperience with the following: logic circuits, operational amplifiers, comparators, microcontrollers, thyristor and transistor circuitry (preferably including IGBTs), relay and contactor circuitsExperience with SM pcbs, including soldering of SM componentsFully conversant in the use of test equipment such as oscilloscopes, voltmeters, bench power supplies etcAbility to use pcb CAD softwareSkillsExcellent level of computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel and the InternetAble to communicate effectively with good presentation skillsAbility to plan and coordinate effectivelyCollating and presenting accurate information in a timely mannerBuilding and maintaining effective relationships with internal/external training customersExcellent Customer Service SkillsExcellent telephone mannerKnowledgeClear understanding of the principles of Continuous improvementCompetenciesSelf motivatedClear focus on high quality presentationCustomer focussedEffective organiser who critically assesses own performanceExcellent communicator at all levels
