Youll be assisted by a Deputy Exams Officer.You will get full training and be supported by a Deputy Exams Officer.You will benefit from an excellent public sector pension (19.9% contributions), a role that allows work/life balance within a college that invests in training and encourages professional development.Important Details:

  • Salary is £26440.
  • The role is all year round.
  • Based at Priestley College in South Warrington (WA4 6RD).
  • 37 hours a week.
  • 08:00 - 16:00 Monday to Friday.
  • Reporting to the experienced MIS Manager.
  • Autonomy and freedom to manage own workload.

Duties of the Exams Officer:
  • Ensure compliance with all exams policies and procedures, ensuring regular review and update.
  • Meet all internal and external deadlines for registrations and entries.
  • Be the Colleges main point of contact for registrations, exams, and assessments.
  • Manage the organisation and running of results days and post results queries.
  • Work with staff to ensure the exam entries and qualification registrations match enrolments.
  • Manage the process for the receipt, checking and storage of all confidential materials in line with the regulations.
  • Manage the exams budget.
  • Ensure effective coordination of invigilators, rooms, scripts, exam papers etc. and ensure contingencies are in place for emergencies.
  • Liaise with others to implement access arrangements and reasonable adjustments for eligible students.
  • Line Manage the Deputy Exams Officer.
  • and all stakeholders.
  • Lead on the admin and processing of Mock exams.
  • Attend training to develop the post and keep updated with JCQ and Awarding Body regulations.
  • Participate in College staff development sessions.
The Exams Officer Must Have/Be:
  • Experience of working in a customer facing role.
  • Experience of managing large amounts of data with a keen attention to detail.
  • GCSE Maths and English, minimum Grade C or equivalent.
  • Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to process information accurately and at a fast pace.
  • Excellent IT, admin and organisational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.
  • Adaptable with a willingness to help in other areas of the College as required.
  • Flexible approach to work.
  • Energy and enthusiasm.
  • Commitment to change and improvement.
  • Suitable to work with children and young adults and vulnerable adults.
An Advantage but not Essential:Experience of working in an exams team in an educational setting.
  • Experience of organising large scale events.
  • Experience of line management.
  • Knowledge of the post 16 qualification sector.
