Job Description

Tradewind is recruiting! We are searching for a dedicated and professional Design Technology Technician to support a large, high-performing secondary school with exceptional resources.The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining machinery including laser cutters, circular saws, and band saws, as well as working effectively within a team and using their own initiative.Hours of Duty: Part-time 2 days per week (15 hours) Term Time Only.Responsibilities:

  • Operating and maintaining machinery including laser cutters, circular saws, and band saws
  • Assisting teachers in the preparation and delivery of Design Technology lessons
  • Keeping accurate records of equipment usage and maintenance
  • Communicating effectively and appropriately with all members of the school community
  • Contributing to the wider aspects of the faculty and to wider school life, such as duties and extra-curricular activities
Requirements:
  • Experience of operating and maintaining machinery including laser cutters, circular saws, and band saws
  • Relevant experience and/or qualification
  • Experience of working with young people
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Confidence
  • Good working knowledge of Design Technology
  • Drive and motivation to develop the department and take it forward in order to cater fully for the needs of the faculty as they arise
  • A desire to contribute to the wider aspects of the faculty and to wider school life e.g. duties and extra-curricular activities
