Computational Scientist in Extreme Scale Computing and AISalary: £31,931-£34,709 (Band D) or £39,748-£44,166 (Band E) dependent on experience*Hours: Full Time (We understand the importance of work-life balance, and are happy to discuss the possibility of flexible working with applicants)*This role is eligible for up to £1500 Allowance gross per annumAre you a hardworking and enthusiastic Computational Scientist Do you have strong leadership skills and are able to motivate and develop others Are you able to work to a plan within a timeframeDue to the continuing success of the Hartree Centre at STFC (part of UK Research and Innovation) we are seeking a Computational Scientist to work on ground breaking projects across high performance computing, big analytics and AI. The successful candidatewill be working with the latest architectures and technologies to meet the needs of UK industry.You will join a well-established and expanding team of extraordinary Computational Scientists and High Performance Software Engineers within our Centre, with an expanding IBM research team at STFC. You will work with business development personnel to developcollaborations with industrial partners and public agencies.We work closely with industrial clients on specific projects, and you will also contribute to these projects as needed. Some of the work will be commercial in confidence and subject to IPR rules around public disclosure. The role may involve working closelywith teams within commercial companies.You will build computational models of components, products and processes whilst helping commercial partners understand how to model uncertainties using and adopting complex models, especially multilevel, multi-scale stochastic and hybrid ones. You willwork with Business Development on project scoping. In particular, identifying appropriate objectives to address client challenges, and feasibility assessment of technologies required to meet objectives and support our business development managers with technicalpre-sales.To succeed in this role, you will have:
