Job Description

Our client is an agile and multi-disciplined IT managed services provider, established 13 years, specialising in systems implementation, ERP software, cloud hosting and full multi-discipline supportThe firm requires an accomplished Support Desk Engineer to join the senior team in a 3rd line support capacity. The opportunity reports to senior level and is based in northwest England (conducted from home during COVID, with occasional attendance in the office for client briefings or board meetings etc).The key responsibility is to provide reliable and assured 3rd-line technical support via the service desk, taking escalations from the 2nd line and helping to solve issues within the firm’s service level guidelines - all to the highest level of customer collaboration and support. You will be liaising between the customer, field service teams and the company’s senior management. Occasionally you will be required to make site visits - for example to supervise the implementation of new platform solutions - so a driver with their own vehicle is preferred (all travel is full expensed, naturally). Overnight stays may be required from time-to-time.To be considered for this excellent career opportunity you must presently be at (or have substantial prior experience with) an agile MSP. Excellent project management and interpersonal skills are essential - as is the ability to multi-task effectively, working in a highly organised style and with a thorough attention to detail. As this role is also about troubleshooting and project delivery you must be even-tempered, flexible, highly methodical and professional.Essential technical expertise includes the advanced setup/installation of software platforms such as design Azure and Office 365, operating systems Windows Server 2008-2019, Exchange Server, SQL Server, virtualisation VMware and Hyper-V, hardware HP/Dell/Lenovo/San/DAS, networking WAN, LAN, vLan, iSCSI, VPN etc) and ideally also backup technologies such as Veeam, Symantec/Veritas and Datto.The role carries a highly competitive salary, excellent benefits and superb career prospects with this expanding and enterprising SME.
