Job Description

The Education Network is based in Warrington and we are Cheshires leading provider of 1-1 Tutors to children not accessing full time education. We work directly with mainstream, SEN schools as well as 7 education authorities and this is expanding at arapid rate. As such we are looking to build upon our current bank of approximately 70 1-1 Tutors that we have grown over 10 + years - currently tutoring on a 1-1 basis in local libraries, childrens centres, schools & childrens homes.We are looking for qualified Primary Teachers or Higher Level Teaching Assistants who have experience supporting teaching and learning across the Primary age phase including Early Years. Tutors would need to have suitable experience working with and supportingchildren from Early Years in to Primary. At present we have a high demand for 1-1 Tutors who can deliver core subject areas across KS1 and KS2 including Maths, Science and English (including Phonics) but having interests and experience in teaching non-core subjects would be advantageous. Our tutorstypically work throughout the school day, approximately 9am-3pm.Work may include preparing children for national tests such as SATs or Phonics Screening Assessments, in this instance a strong knowledge and understanding of different phonics schemes wouldbe beneficial. Support may include supporting children through transitional periods of education such as between EYFS and KS1. Many of the children we support on a 1-1 basis have mild, moderate & sometimes severe learning difficulties and/or SEMH issues. Some are dis-engaged, having not attended school for some time and as such can display challenging behaviour, or may have certainemotional barriers to learning. As a result, we are seeking Tutors with a background in working hard to re-engage children back into education, who have lots of patience, persistence and are resilient to facing extreme types of behaviour.Ideally tutors willhave their own resources/ bag of goodies as we say! Useful links can be provided to support with Key Stages or schemes of learning.A holistic approach to learning may be beneficial to some of our children.This can be a very rewarding role and suits Tutors who are dedicated, reliable & professional who are seeking a part or full timetable to possibly work around another job, childcare, studies or simply just because you prefer to teach on a 1-1 basis.
