My client is a provider of innovative supply chain management solutions to the Aerospace industry supplying component and tooling solutions and distribution worldwide. They are based in the outer south-west London area.They are now seeking an International Trade Compliance Officer to join their team in early January 2021.The International Trade Compliance Officer will design and implement policies and procedures to ensure the company is compliant with international trade regulations.Main Responsibilities:· To ensure compliance on all international trade matters (Import & Export) with UK and US export controls within the business.· Oversee the BREXIT end of transition process.· To ensure that the customs warehouse and related shipping activities are managed efficiently.· To ensure compliance with regards to customs warehouse procedures and AEO status.· Ensure accurate record keeping for audits and host audits from HMRC and BIS.· Liaise with freight agents to ensure compliance.· To ensure that the company complies with the legislation of REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals) requirements to meet the business needs.· To act as the technical REACH expert on cross-functional projects.· To undertake, as directed, any other duties as may be commensurate with the overall efficient running of the Company.Ideal candidate profile:· Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience· Previous experience of implementation and operation of ‘customs warehouse’· Previous experience of operation of an AEO status warehouse· Knowledge of import VAT, Duty and maintenance of records.· Practical application using correct classification codes for strategic control lists, commodity codes and CPC codes for imports.· Practical application of UK and US export control procedures, specifically SPIRE and the use of military OGELs, SIELs, end user and consignee undertakings.· BREXIT knowledge to ensure Trade Compliance is maintained after end of transition.· Experience of liaising with freight agents to ensure adherence to compliance.· Knowledge of REACH compliance.· Knowledge of SAP highly desirable· Ability to work on own initiative.· Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.· Excellent analytical and problem solving skills· Excellent interpersonal skills· Planning scheduling and organization of work· Ability to write procedures.· Minimum A’Level education or equivalentAdditional information:· ITAR regulations apply to this role· Salary c. £50,000 depending on experience· Free parking· Easy public transport access· Monday – Friday. 37.5 hours per week· Attractive benefits packageIf you are interested in applying for this position and you meet the requirements, please apply immediately.Due to the number of applications we receive, it’s not always possible to contact unsuccessful applicants.
