Job Description

  • Are you a Project Manager with extensive experience of managing complex change projects Fantastic opportunity leading a team of PMs.
  • Currently we are looking to recruit a Senior Project Manager to work within our Transformation & Change team.Location - BescotSalary: £50,000 - £55,000The role involves being directly responsible for the day-to-day management and execution of several large Transformation & Change projects, Supporting the overall Transformation & Change team to deliver their objectives.Reporting to the Project Management & Business Change Manager, you will be a highly experienced Project Manager, ideally with a technical background with strong Team Management skills, and extensive experience of managing/ delivering large scale complex change projects.You will also be responsible for leading a team of 5 Change Professionals to deliver and executive complex, business critical projects.Project Management:
  • Day-to-day project management and execution of a wide range of Transformation & Change projects.
  • Stakeholder management at a senior level including Project Sponsor, Project SMEs, Finance Business Partner, Corporate customers and external third-party suppliers.
  • Identification, analysis and management of risks, issues and dependencies through the definition and implementation of appropriate management strategies and action plans.
  • Management of third-party suppliers including onboarding new suppliers.
  • Project governance - follow the defined Stage Gate Process including Gating, weekly project reporting, management of project finances and spend against baseline budget and management of Service Introduction
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Business Analysts, Finance Business Partner, Solution Architects, PMO, Test team, relevant business areas, IT and/or Business suppliers, Corporate Customers, IT Ops and Transformation & Change Senior Leadership Team.
  • Team Management:
  • Line management, coaching and point of escalation for Project Managers/ Junior Project Managers.
  • Line management of Project Managers/ Junior Project Managers building a team of motivated, knowledgeable and skilled team ensuring progression and talent retention
  • To contribute to the development of the Transformation and Change team’s capability to deliver change Provide coaching, mentoring and support to develop the team
  • Financial:
  • Management of project finances and spend against baseline budget
  • Manage Project budgets against agreed budget including managing internal cross-charges.
  • Work with Finance business partner to model & control project costs, Forecasting and estimating Project costs.
  • Manage budget with accountability of up to 2m spend.
  • Skills, knowledge and experience:
  • Demonstrable ability to manage multiple Transformation & Change programmes/projects.
  • Previous Project Managementexperience within a financial services, General Insurance or Regulated environment.
  • Demonstrate a technical background, IT change management or business project management.
  • Project Management Accreditation (e.g. PRINCE2, APM) would be beneficial
  • Proven experience in supplier management
  • Proven experience of managing project finances and spend.
  • Excellent planning, communication and presentation skills
  • Strong people skills/relationship management skills and an engaging capability for working in collaboration with internal and external teams
  • Confident communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at senior level.
  • Strong team management skills, with a passion for developing and motivating teams.
  • Ability to manage large complex, high profile, Transformation and change multi-projects with a fast-paced regulated environment.
  • Enthusiastic, pragmatic and dedicated & driven to succeed, with a positive attitude.
  • Travel to other sites required.
