Financial Accountant (Maternity cover)Are you up to date with changes to UK GAAP and IFRS financial reporting frameworks and available at short notice to provide maternity cover for a leading organisation based in WalsallI am currently recruiting for a Financial Accountant to join my client who is a market leader within its sector. My client is renowned for its excellent reputation and brilliant ability to outperform its competition. They are looking for a Financial Accountant to join them to cover maternity leave and join a very dynamic and outgoing team. The Financial Accountant position will give you a varied and fast paced workload reporting to the wider group where you will liaise with stakeholders at all levels of business. It is a diverse and unique opportunity to work alongside a qualified team but will still be given a high level of responsibility where a strong hold of IFRS and UK GAAP would be ideal.The Financial Accountant will:Will be responsible for dealing with internal auditors, supporting the team with year end processes. This requires knowledge of both IFRS and UK GAAP.Responsible for controlling the integrity of balance sheets and journals. Will be required to ensure that balance sheet reconciliations are accurate and timely, and that the balance sheet framework is well communicated to the business and Group Best Practice is adhered to.Calculate major provisions, review the calculation of all other provision and track movements.Responsible for reconciling and posting monthly Intercompany transactions with group.Assist in financial reporting to the wider Group, which requires me to work across company boundaries and systems.Produce the pension accounts and maintain the pension bank reconciliation and cash book.Responsible for the compliance of the Key Financial Controls for the business, ensuring controls are sufficiently robust.Actively engage with senior staff to gain a good understanding of the business.Ad-hoc project work to support senior management.The successful Financial Accountant will have the following skills and experience:ACA or ACCA qualifiedStrong technical and analytical skills.Knowledge of the external audit process and preparation of statutory financial statements.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to work to deadlines and under pressure.Ability to work on my own initiative and as part of a team.Ability to juggle multiple tasks.If you have the skills and experience required for this position, contact Nick Singh on for a confidential chat or send your CV to Required skills
