Job Description

Energy & Carbon compliance and reporting officerSalary: £37,000 - £42,000 per annum (depending upon skills and experience)Hours: 37 hours per week (Monday to Friday)Location: Green Lane, Walsall we are recruitng for our exclusive client who deliver clean and reliable water supplies to around 1.5 million customers within the South Staffs and Cambridge regions. We recognise the need for fresh thinking and flexibility in how we approach thefuture and respond to new challenges. We are looking for an Energy and Carbon Officer with a strong technical and compliance background to join the Energy team.We have an exciting opening for an energy and carbon officer toplay an integral part in delivering our 2030 Net Zero (and beyond) strategy. The role covers several critical strategic and compliance areas including, but not limited to:

  • Decarbonisation Strategy (2030 Net Zero roadmap and 2050 vision)
  • Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions reporting - mapping, assessment and reporting
  • Energy and Carbon compliance and reporting
  • Environmental Permitting
  • Energy Efficiency
  • Business case development
  • Benchmarking and research
  • Generator operation - STOR and Capacity Market
  • Framework agreement / contract management
  • Auditing (energy and carbon)
  • Embedded carbon and carbon accounting
Ideally, you will have technical, commercial and regulatory experience relating to energy and carbon projects. This role covers activities as diverse as renewable energy, fleet electrification, embedded generation optimisation, energy efficiency projects(including our Pump Efficiency Program), as well as energy and carbon reporting (SECR, ESOS, Annual Report, CDP, ESG, Ofwat etc.)The position requires an individual who can focus on compliance, strategy and risk management, but is equally comfortable on the ground engaging with operational stakeholders on renewable energy and energy efficiency projects.A background in either the water or other regulated sector is desirable.This position will be full time; based in our Green Lane, Walsall office with a requirement to work from other sites across both regions in South Staffordshire and Cambridge.
