Job Description

We are now recruiting for a BI Developer to join the DMA Team in Technology to be located at our site in Walsall. Our teams are currently working from home with plans to transition to a hybrid working model from early 2022 when colleagues will return tothe office up to 3 days per week.You can expect to Deliver data systems change and quality assured data to support business reporting across RAC. This role will require you to design, build and deliver complex Data Warehouse solutions to meet business requirements and be able to supportbusiness stakeholders by providing creative and innovative solutions. An IT professional and experienced software engineer, able to deliver complex yet controlled and governed changes whilst communicating complex concepts and methodologies to stakeholdersat all levels across the business.

  • Design, build and deliver complex Data Warehouse solutions to meet business requirements, whether working alone or part of a team.
  • Proactively support stakeholders across the business, communicating effectively to provide creative and innovative solutions.
  • Maintain an understanding of developments across the RAC business and across the technology industry, supporting the integration of new IT solutions in line with changing business needs.
  • Detailed problem solving and the ability to quickly resolve and communicate issues, to ensure that the integrity of the business data is maintained.
  • Communicate complex concepts and methodologies to stakeholders with varied levels of seniority and experience.
  • An experienced Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence developer, familiar with the Microsoft SQL technology stack.
  • Exposure to and experience of BI utilising cloud technologies would be advantageous.
We are looking for someone who is an expert in designing, building, and implementing complex Data Warehouse solutions and have extensive knowledge of the Microsoft SQL Server technology stack. Data Modelling Experience is essential as well as building andworking with complex ETL and data structures, including data cubes. You will have previous experience in using version control tools such as, TFS & GIT to deliver quality controlled solutions. A good knowledge of Agile working methodologies and the drive anddesire to see solutions delivered right first time. Some experience with cloud-based technologies such as Snowflake, Databricks and Data Factory would be preferred. Similarly, data visualisation knowledge with enterprise tools such as Power BI or Tableau isdesired.
