Job Description

Service Care Solutions is seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join Walsall Council as an Alternative Provision Keyworker. This is a crucial role within the education sector, working to raise the achievement and aspirations of pupils attendingAlternative Provision (AP). The successful candidate will be providing support for a duration of 6 months, with the potential of this being extended.Location: WalsallPay: £16.26 per hourAs an Alternative Provision Keyworker, you will be responsible for:

  • Raising the achievement and aspirations of pupils attending AP
  • Managing a case load of pupils and responding to safeguarding concerns
  • Serving as a key point of contact for parents and pupils, addressing a range of pastoral issues and concerns
To be considered for this position you must have:
  • A full UK Driving Licence with access to a vehicle
  • Enhanced DBS
  • Experience of working with children and young people in an educational setting
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of statutory policies, legislation and requirements affecting AP education including SENDI and their implications for Local authorities
  • Proven experience in managing complex situations involving challenging and vulnerable young people
  • Proven experience working with AP providers, LA, schools and key stakeholders
