Job Description

Our international manufacturing and production company based in Wallsend is looking for a Production Manager to join them on a permanent basis.Job Role

  • Plan, direct, and monitor all production activities within an assigned production area to maximise the use of the organisation’s resources and meet defined production specifications and schedules
  • Responsible for volume, cost, scrap and H&S targets; as well as quality and lean standards
  • Has budget responsibility for the cost center
  • Coach Team Leaders to independently come up with ideas and implement improvement measures
  • Maintains constant dialogue with Team Leaders and employees on the shop floor
  • Coordinates workforce planning and development based on order planning
  • Work with staff on their personal growth and development goals
  • Monitors and coordinates structural changes to production facilities and processes
  • Provides guidance to the development of a manufacturing process plan, including personnel requirements, material needs, facility needs, and tooling and equipment needs
  • Make most efficient utilisation of the available production resources
  • Driver of Lean transformation, using Lean methods
    • Skills/Experience
  • An experienced Production or Operations Manager in a technical production environment
  • Sound knowledge of EHS
  • Lean Manager expertise
  • Basic understanding of production planning and scheduling
  • Experience in leading improvement workshops
  • Proven leadership skills and leadership experience
