Job Description

About the RoleWe have a rare opportunity within our HR Team for a part time (21 hours) People Adviser to join us on a fixed term basis during an exciting period of significant growth and transformation.Our HR department are central to the delivery of our people strategy and we are looking for someone who cares as much about people as we do.Reporting into the Employee Relations Manager, the People Adviser role will support the achievement of people objectives within our Society by providing a customer focussed service. The role holder will support line managers and colleagues by providing aprofessional, commercial and pragmatic HR advice and support service.No two days are ever the same and the variety of work will keep you on your toes. Your role will upskill, support and coach Managers in the business to enable them to manage their teams independently and confidently with minimal HR support.Key duties and responsibilities include:

  • Providing an effective and legally compliant Employee Relations advice service
  • Monitoring and analysing caseload trends for your business area(s)
  • Building Manager capability across the Society
  • Supporting organisational change
  • Developing HR policy, procedure and practice
  • Undertaking Horizon scanning to inform best practice
About YouIf you have already gained your CIPD qualification and experience in a generalist HR role, supporting employee relations casework and organisational change then we would love to hear from you. Your experience of working in partnership with managers helpingto deliver innovative people solutions whilst remaining focused on business needs will also be invaluable in this role.You will need to be a confident communicator whether this is over the phone, face to face or in writing. As we have a low volume of employee relations cases, your relationship building and influencing skills will play a key role in your ongoing success asour focus is on coaching managers to build their people management skills.
