Job Description

Manufacturing Engineering and Industrialisation ManagerWe are looking to hire an experienced, performance driven Manufacturing Engineering Manager to plan, coordinate and control all manufacturing engineering and Product Industrialisation activities with a focus on achieving budget and production targets.This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a Global player within the industrial, MRO and automotive industries.   • Manage and coordinate the manufacturing engineering, Product Industrialisation and plant set-up functions of the UK plant.
  • Translate the plants manufacturing engineering and PPI strategy into action plans and ensure these are implemented.
  • Contribute to strategic and operations planning for the UK plant.
  • Ensure the achievement of targets.
  • Initiate and control investments for production equipment and manufacturing engineering and PPI equipment.
  • Initiate and implement continuous improvement activities.
  • Prepare, review and manage the budget and forecasts of the UK plant, ensuring timely submission of financial data.
  • Design and implement overall factory processes by definition of production concept, design of plant layout, factory simulation and product cost calculation according to lean principles.
  • Ensure the installation, start up, validation and handover to production as well as improvement of all production and supply chain equipment as well as tools.
  • Plan and implement maintenance of production and supply chain equipment as well as production and supply chain IT and building equipment and infrastructure according to relevant standards.
  • Ensure timely production, manufacturing engineering and PPI performance monitoring.
  • Manage product specific ramp-up or change projects and ensure the update of production specifications, production flow charts, production control plan and work instructions.
  • Proactively solve quality issues regarding customer complaints or rejection rates.
The candidate
  • An individual with an engineering degree would be highly desirable, however candidates with relevant hands-on experience will also be considered.
  • Previous, successful tenure in a Manufacturing Engineering lead or Manager role and/or a Product Industrialisation
  • Our ideal candidate will have a knowledge and experience of rubber or plastic production process although this is by no means essential.
  • Knowledge of product and process industrialisation technologies, systems, infrastructures, standards and processes.
  • A knowledge of quality management.
  • You should be a problem solver and decision maker.
  • Project Management experience is desirable
