Case ManagerWigan, Greater ManchesterAn opportunity has arisen within the Private Client Department of leading genealogists, Estate Research. We are looking for legal professionals / former legal professionals with experience of Wills and Probate Practice, who might be looking for a new careerin genealogy.About Us: Established in 2001, Estate Research works with both private clients and the public sector to locate missing Next of Kin and beneficiaries to an estate. Our work is highly confidential whilst being extremely satisfying. We believe that a reputationis hard won, easily lost and that is why we approach each case with the utmost diligence regardless of size, age, or complexity. Estate Research is now one of the countrys largest genealogists/heir hunter firms and due to substantial organic growth, we arelooking to recruit a new Case Manager.As a CASE MANAGER you will be paramount to the ongoing success of our business. You will manage your own caseload whereby you will utilise a variety of methods and tools available to you to locate beneficiaries.Day to Day tasks: Research genealogy in accordance with the training provided and the clients instructions, using all authorised resources including external research from approved databases Record research findings with neat, clear handwriting in the correct format Ordering birth, death, and marriage certificates as well as other relevant reference documents for research purposes Taking and making calls to confirm research or rule out leads Ensuring the in-house Case Management system is kept up to date with case progression Answer all correspondence via phone, email, or letter from clients &/or potential beneficiaries within a timely manner Prepare interim and final reports, including the family tree, letters, family history reports and mailing lists Accurately write reports for solicitors or local authorities in the prescribed format General admin duties Work to deadlines prioritising workload accordinglyThe Ideal Candidate: You will have experience of working within Wills & Probate or within a wider Private Client law setting and you will have: A keen eye for detail Ability to retain and recall vast amounts of information Impeccable organisation skills Adaptable communication skills Capability to convert research into clear, formatted reports An active interest in genealogyOther: Occasional travel -to interview beneficiaries, to collect or deliver documents from/to beneficiaries, visit the Manchester archives or collect certificates from the GRO in Southport.To undertake any other duties as and when required including any ad hoc jobs for the Management team Observe and comply with company policies.Key features of the employment terms:
