Job Description

The school currently have a vacancy for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team based at a school in Leasowe, Wirral.About the role:

  • You must have experience working with children with SEN preferably with learning difficulties and Social Emotional Mental Health.
  • You will be part of a team which creates a safe, nurturing environment so the pupils can engage in activities that promote learning and personal development.
  • You will be flexible and understand the need to be able to adapt quickly to the needs of individual pupils.
  • You will build a positive rapport with pupils and staff and be seen as a good role model and team player.
  • As a teaching assistant you will work 1:1 with pupils, guided by the class teacher.
  • The school will require you to be flexible and work across different years groups, with different pupils as needed.
This role would ideally suit a qualified Teaching Assistant (level 2 or level 3) who is looking to secure a long term, full time role in a specialist school.This role would also suit an individual who has worked in a residential setting/community setting supporting children with learning difficulties and SEMH.Support and in house training is provided by the school as part of their induction programme. Prospero Teaching also offer accredited training to help up-skill the right person for this role.CONTRACT / POSITION DETAILS:* Location - Leasowe, Wirral* Position - SEN Teaching Assistant* Start date - September 2023* Full time/part time - Full time. This role is for 1 full academic year* The minimum rate of pay - Minimum rate of £90 per day.* Hours - 8:30-16:00.EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS.
  • Previous experience working with pupils with SEN, specifically SEMH and Learning Difficulties is essential
  • TA qualification is preferred but for some one that doesnt have this there is the option for the right individual to be supported to completed a CACHE Level 3 qualification by Propsero Teaching.
  • Up to date safeguarding training (Prospero Teaching can provide this).TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:
  • Hold Right to Work in the UK.
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
