Job Description

Senior DevOps EngineerLiverpoolPermanentc£45,000 Annual SalaryThe CompanyA fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join this fast paced and commercial business in Liverpool city centre.The Role:This role will focus on developing a DevOps culture within the team, along with developing the tools, processes and, accelerating our digital capabilities. The role is a hands-on delivery role with a requirement for working closely with the Technology Operations Team, so there will be an element of technical support to your day-to-day activities.Main Responsibilities:

  • Build and set up new deployment tools and infrastructure.
  • Work on ways to automate and improve deployment and release processes.
  • Test and examine code written by others and analyse results.
  • Ensure that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats.
  • Identify technical problems and develop deployment and platform updates and fixes.
  • Work with software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended.
  • Plan projects and take an active role in project management decisions.
  • Facilitate secure development practices in ISO 27001.
  • Support the training and educating to the development team. Also, make security recommendations and improvements using log analysis and industry best practice.
  • Seek out and embrace opportunities to improve our digital products, services and solutions. Successful Senior DevOps Engineer
  • Strong background in DevOps and developer roles in agile environments.
  • Networking knowledge, including VPCs, peering and multi-Cloud.
  • Proven working experience in projects involving Azure & Infrastructure as code experience with Azure, AWS, GCP and other cloud technologies.
  • Demonstrable experience of deployment practices to IOS and Android.
  • Previously dealt with Cloud migrations from legacy on premise infrastructure to cloud.
  • Worked with IAC tools such as Jenkins, Terraform, Ansible or Chef etc.
  • Proven working experience using Docker or Kubernetes and building out modern data platform environments.
