Job Description

I am currently recruiting for a Youth Justice Practitioner to work on behalf of a leading public sector organisation based in Wakefield (WF1).This team is a high performing service that is proud of the innovative and reflective approach it takes to:

Duties of the Youth Justice Practitioner will include:
  • To undertake comprehensive assessments, plans and interventions with children at risk of offending behaviour., and involved in offending behaviour.
  • To deliver effective management and supervision of a caseload of children involved in, or at risk of entering, the youth justice system.
  • A whole family approach including support to parents and carers.
  • To provide written reports to Referral Order panels, Youth and Crown Courts, Child Protection conferences and other formal forums that are of a high standard and effectively convey the views of the Youth Justice Service.
  • Undertakingassessments for young people.
  • To ensure that children and young people are effectively assessed, planned for, engaged with and suitably reviewed in a manner that enhances the likelihood of their behaviour changing.
To be successful in this role, you will:
  • Have previous experience of holding Youth Justice cases from across the range of Youth Justice Orders.
  • Experienced and skilled practitioners who can work confidently and autonomously with a wide variety and complexity of cases.
  • Team players who adopt a strengths-based, child first approach and are enthusiastic and passionate about making a difference.
  • Be able to manage own caseload.
This role is 37 hours per week, but this can be negotiable (30 hours), with a pay rate of £16.12 per hour.Please apply today for a chance of an immediate interview.
