Job Description

Technical Support Officer – WakefieldSalary: £10.41ph Full-Time (37 hours)Job RoleThe key purpose of this post is to support the Network Maintenance Engineer to ensure that information is provided across Highways Network Management focusing on the Gully Cleansing Service.Specifically this post reporting to the Network Maintenance Engineer will provide information to the Engineering Staff to allow the co-ordination of the cyclic and CRM driven gully works. Data preparation for this function, processing P2P orders, assisting in preparation and providing monitoring information for gully operations.Responsibilities Key Activities1. Undertake duties within Highways Network Management to ensure that efficient support systems and procedures are in place, specifically:

  • Provide support to the Highways Drainage Team with regard to provision and control of gully service information.
  • Monitor and administer the Gully Service CRM queues to assist the Drainage Engineer with prioritising works and ensuring good customer communication.
  • Prepare monitoring information with regard to the service.
  • Prepare and vet CRM jobs prior to issue.
  • Ensure that third party works are invoiced to appropriate parties..
  • Process and approve operational P2P orders as required.
  • Assist the Highways Drainage Engineer in day to day matters.
  • 2. Participate in a team working approach to the duties within the Performance and Development Team.3. Establish effective working relationships with officers of other Services and Departments to enable Highway Network Management to play a full and effective role in the corporate working of the authority so that Council objectives can be achieved.4. Ensure that the departmental services are provided to the highest standards, with due recognition of client and customer requirements and in accordance with the councils customer care and equality policies.5. Represent the department in contact with the public and representatives of other services and departments as necessary, providing information when requested.6. Contribute to the maintenance of good employee relations within Highway Network Management.7. Work within recognised safe systems of work at all times adhering to Health and Safety requirements.8. Adhere to and apply legislation, Council Standing Orders and procedures as appropriate.9. Participate in reviews of systems and procedures as and when required.10. Actively contribute to improving service delivery within the Highway Network Management.11. Contribute to the overall operation of Highways Network Management and undertake specific tasks in support of the services aims and objectives.12. Maintain manual and computerised information and/or databases required for the effective provision of operational functions.13. Working with colleagues to ensure the office is professionally managed in the absence of line managers.14. Undertake other duties (with competence and experience) as requested, in accordance with changing organisational directives.We offer:
