Manufacturing futures are looking to appoint a stores assistant to work alongside the purchasing manager in a variety of tasks. This is a fantastic opportunity in a growing business where the appointed individual can really make this job their own. Its essentially a blank canvas. Stores assistant / FLT / Stock Control / Purchasing / Manufacturing*Develop a robust and simple process for replenishing consumable items used within the factory*Drive the FLT to move goods *To take responsibility for supporting the development of the stores function and improving existing processes*Issue components/kits for works orders ensuring they are in the correct location*Deal with stock requisitions from the shop floor and issue as appropriate Implement a more visual and standard system*Conduct periodic stock taking activities*Conduct regular 5S activities within the stores department including red tagging any surplus/ redundant stock*Provide assistance and support to purchasing dept. by placing orders when required and providing cover for holidays and absence*Manual handling of goodsStores assistant / FLT / Stock Control / Purchasing / ManufacturingKnowledge and Experience*Demonstrable experience of working in a similar role within an engineering/manufacturing environment is essential*Stock handling experience is essential*Purchasing experience is essential*Sound knowledge of good working practice relating to Health & *Safety Regulations*Excellent I.T. skills with knowledge of stock systems*Excellent organisation skills*Good attention to detail *You will be a confident communicator both written and verbal, good at multitasking, and be comfortable working independently and as part of a team*Forklift truck licence is essential *You will be friendly, approachable and flexibleStores assistant / FLT / Stock Control / Purchasing / ManufacturingDoes this sound like you If so click apply now!
